備前焼は岡山県備前市周辺で焼かれた焼物で

釉薬を全く使わずに「酸化焔焼成」で

焼き締めて作られており土そのものの

味わいを感じることが出来ます。

備前焼は土の特性で、花入れでしたら水が

腐りにくく花が長持ちするとか、湯呑などは

入れた水やお茶の味がまろやかなになると

言われています。

この花入は桟切（さんぎり）と呼ばれる

焼き方をされており何とも言えない複雑で

渋い風合いが出ています。

「桟切」は松割木が燃尽きた灰に覆われて、

空気の流通が妨げられ燻し焼きになって

窯変して模様が出来ます。

胴は寸胴で口の下で一旦締まっており

その下に小さな耳が付いています。

全体が小ぶりにまとまっておりシンプルで

気軽に花を活けることが出来ます。

茶道などで床の間などに活ける

侘びた茶花によく合う落ち着きある

花器といえます。

Sangiri involves covering the piece with ash from burning pine wood, which causes the piece to undergo a smoking process, restricting air circulation and creating distinctive patterns due to kiln variations.
